There is one female red bishop at the Zoo. She was born in 2001 and arrived here in 2003.
International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List status: Least concern. They are considered pests in many areas, as they tend to raid cereal crops.
Red bishops can be found throughout central and southern Africa. They prefer grasslands usually near water.
Consists mainly of seed eating, insects and shrubs.
