A: Your membership is valid for one full year from the time of purchase.
Q: How can I purchase or renew a Zoo membership?
A: We offer four easy options:
Q: At what age do you charge admission for a child?
A: We charge admission for children age three and older. Children age two and younger are admitted free.
Q: How old must I be to have a membership in my name?
A: You must be at least 18 years or older to have a membership in your name.
Q: Can I purchase cards for my children?
A: Yes, if you have a membership that covers children you may purchase a personalized card, linked to the primary membership, for $5 each. Children are considered age 18 and younger. Not available on Individual and Couple levels.
Q: Can I add a child card or Caregiver to an Individual or Couple membership?
A: No. The Individual and Couple memberships do not cover children in any capacity.
Q: How long will it take to receive my membership cards?
A: If you come to the Zoo, you will immediately receive temporary cards. If you submit your application online, in person, by mail or by phone, your permanent membership cards will be processed and mailed to you within one week.
Q: How many cards will I receive?
A: The number of cards you receive is determined by the package you select, but no more than two.
Q: Can I purchase member T-shirts?
A: Member T-shirts are for sale for only $10 each at the Zoo's Front Gate, or by redeeming a voucher purchased when you join or renew.
Q: Are member T-shirts available for free?
A: Two member T-shirts are included at the Penguin Circle package and above. Once we accept T-shirt delivery, they are available by redeeming a coupon sent with your permanent cards at the Zoo’s Front Gate.
Q: Can I loan my membership card to a family member or friend?
A: No. Your membership card(s) and associated privileges are not transferable to any other family. Your membership has a tremendous value. To protect the rights of our members, we will ask to see your photo ID, such as a driver's license, at the time of your visit.
Q: Can I purchase a gift of membership?
A: Yes. We will sell you a certificate that can be redeemed by the member for one full year of membership.
Q: Can I use my membership at other zoos?
A: Yes. Check out the Zoo and Aquarium Discounts for a list of participating AZA zoos and aquariums for 50% off admission. We make every effort to keep our list current. These agreements are determined by the other establishment and can change at any time. We recommend that you call ahead to plan your visit with their latest information.
Q: What do I do if I lose my membership card?
A: Report lost cards by calling the Member Office at (585) 336-7212 or stop at the Zoo's Front Gate.
Q: Are membership dues refundable or transferable?
A: No. Membership dues are neither refundable nor transferable.
Q: Are membership dues tax-deductible?
A: Yes. The Internal Revenue Service has issued guidelines that affect the deductibility of memberships. Under those guidelines, you can disregard benefits (like free or discounted admission) in return for an annual payment of $75 or less. Since the cost to the Seneca Park Zoo Society - a 501(c) (3) non-profit - of two Seneca Park Zoo Member T-shirts is insubstantial, no goods or services were provided in exchange for your contribution at our higher levels.
Q: Are there any early or late hours specific to members?
A: Members may enter at 9:30 a.m., 30 minutes earlier than non-members. Higher-level members will also receive invitations to exclusive before or after-hours events.
Q: How will I know when to renew my membership?
A: You will receive a renewal notice one month in advance of your membership's expiration date. You will also receive reminder notices. No matter when you join or renew, you will always receive one full year of membership.
