ZooTeen Leaders Program
Look for next year's application in September 2014!
The ZooTeen Leaders program encourages teens to become a force for conservation, education and stewards of the Earth's natural resources. The program empowers teens by equipping them with the resources and skills needed to be ambassadors for the Earth's environment. The ZooTeen Program will also provide teens the opportunity to explore the vast array of career opportunities within the Zoo and in conservation and animal sciences.
The ZooTeen Leaders program is a year-long opportunity to learn at the Zoo through activities designed by and for youth, focusing on communication skills, career development and conservation, as well as local and global environmental issues. Participants will attend four meetings per month which may take place on a weeknight or on Sunday afternoons and work on projects that develop team-building, communication skills and conservation knowledge. ZooTeen Leaders will become leaders for the Summer ZooTeen program as well as have the opportunity to volunteer for the Zoo in a variety of other ways.
This program is open to students in 9th through 12th grade who have
completed a year with the summer ZooTeen program.
