Nature Hikes & Nature Journaling

Connecting People with Nature

We believe the best way to protect wildlife and wild spaces locally and around the globe is by facilitating a connection to nature and a sense of stewardship from our community. We have programs like nature hikes and nature journaling that are focused on exploring and learning about all the fascinating parks and wild spaces located around upstate New York. On our nature hikes we educate the public about tree and animal identification as well as the ecology of the area and how plants and animals coexist to make healthy pockets of biodiversity.

We also lead specialized nature hikes where we explore the parks and forests in our area while participating in nature journaling. This is an activity where we find wildlife and record what we see in a journal through drawing and painting. This trains us to pay close attention to every detail of the forest to best appreciate the biodiversity.
