- July 15 / 10:00 am

Join us for Artic Sea Ice & Polar Bear Awareness Week as we will be celebrating these amazing animals and the shrinking habitat they live in from Thursday, July 15 through Wednesday, July 21 both virtually and live at the Zoo. This event is free with Zoo admission.

Meet us inside Rocky Coasts Gallery to learn about Anoki’s daily care and the Zoo’s partnership with Polar Bears International (PBI) and find out what you can do to help save polar bears and the Arctic sea ice they depend on.

Schedule for Live Enrichment Demos:

Make plans to come to the Zoo to watch as Anoki’s keepers provide her with enrichment food/exercises to stimulate her physically and mentally (and of course treats!).

Daily at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm

Virtual Content:

Welcome to Arctic Sea Ice & Polar Bear Week! Check out these awesome and informative graphics from our friends at Polar Bears International and donate to our fundraiser to support them!

Join us Monday, July 19 at 1:00 PM as Dr. Louis DiVincenti, Assistant Zoo Director – Animal Care and Conservation, and Anoki’s primary keeper, Randi Krieger will be presenting live over Zoom and discussing how polar bears in zoos help polar bears in the wild. They will also highlight research projects that zoos have taken part in along with field researchers, even some we have done right here at Seneca Park Zoo!

See Polar Bears Roam! You can watch polar bears as they travel across the sea ice to hunt seals with this Polar Bear Tracker from PBI.
