ZooTeens and docents will be on grounds to teach guests about many topics including the effect on our waterways of micro-beads, wetland conservation, lake sturgeon and river otter reintroduction programs, and the effect on our oceans of oil spills and the seafood industry. The Monroe County Department of Public Health will also be presenting information about the Rochester Embayment Area of Concern, a restoration project for part of the Genesee River.
At 11:30 a.m. at the Nature Connection Stage, Susan Peterson Gateley, an author of books regarding Great Lakes conservation, will give a talk about threats such as invasive species and pollution.
