Thank you for your interest in volunteering at your Zoo. We have many ways for you to get involved.
Event Volunteer opportunities are our most popular. These volunteers assist with our various events and help with things like face painting, greeting guests and activity stations. General and Group Volunteering offer those interested the chance to come out and work together to better the Zoo. The majority of these opportunities are available during the spring and summer months when there is a lot of mulching, weeding and raking that needs to be completed.
Docents are our volunteer educators. These volunteers attend specialized classes to learn the most effective ways to engage and educate our visitors about animals and our conservation efforts. Our ZooTeen program offers teens an unique way to spend their summer vacation educating and inspiring Zoo guests. Our ZooTeen Leaders program expands on our summer program and engages teens year-round.
Community professionals interested in getting involved with the Zoo are encouraged to review our various Committees.
So, whether you are interested in participating as an individual or as a group, becoming a docent, an Event Volunteer or anything in between, the Zoo needs the help of people like you.
Please note that due to limited staff resources, we do not offer job shadow opportunities.
