The business portion of the meeting will include the election of new members of the Board of Trustees.

Dan Matteo

Dan Matteo is the founder of Endgame Advisory, a consulting firm based in Rochester, NY. Dan brings experience from assurance, tax, accounting, and advisory engagements to provide a holistic approach to aid growing clients throughout the U.S. He has served a variety of industries including construction, real estate, wholesalers, auto dealers, technology companies, charter schools, firearms, financial institutions, and manufacturers. His focus is on proactive planning for high-growth companies, entity structure, transactional consulting, and mergers and acquisitions.

Dan lives in Pittsford, NY with his wife, Christina, and their two kids Micah and Bria who are all avid Zoo fans and animal lovers.

David Wilks

David Wilks co-leads the Immigration Practice Group at Hodgson Russ LLP in Rochester, New York. He represents a wide variety of business immigration clients. Mr. Wilks currently serves as an Elected Director on the national Board of Governors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the premier immigration bar association in the United States. He is also a former Board Member and Program Committee Chair for the Literacy Volunteers of Rochester. His articles have appeared in Bender’s Immigration Bulletin, ILW.com, National Law Review, and in various AILA publications, including Immigration Options for Investors and Entrepreneurs, 4th Ed. Mr. Wilks is also the 2019 recipient of AILA’s national Joseph Minsky Young Lawyer Award and the AILA Upstate New York Chapter’s 2018 Mark T. Kenmore Mentor of the Year Award. He has also been listed in Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers Rising Stars, and WWL Corporate Immigration Future Leaders. Mr. Wilks is a Graduate of Cornell Law School.

Gavin Brownlie

Gavin is President & Chief Executive Officer of Crosby-Brownlie, Inc., a mechanical contracting business based in Rochester, NY, serving all of upstate NY. Gavin has been an integral member of the Crosby-Brownlie team since he started there in 1996.
Gavin is a former board chair and board member of the Seneca Park Zoo Society and also has participated in their development, finance, business operations, and capital campaign committees. He was Zoobilation Chair in 2010 & 2011 and currently serving as chair for Zoobilation 2024. Gavin is extremely active in both industry and community organizations. He holds or has held board positions at MCC Foundation, Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE), Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), UNICON, SMACNA-Rochester, ASHRAE, Sheet Metal Workers Pension Fund, and the Plumbers and Steamfitters Pension & Welfare Fund, as well as their Industry Advancement Program. Mr. Brownlie achieved LEED Accredited Professional status from the USGBC in 2008 and was honored in the Rochester Business Journal’s “Forty Under Forty” class of 2010. He resides in Hilton, NY with his wife Danelle, and their three children.

Luis Burgos

Luis Burgos is retired as the City of Rochester Commissioner of Recreation and Youth Services. He has a special tie to Seneca Park Zoo, as his father was the first Latino to work for the Zoo in the 1950s. Mr. Burgos has been actively involved in numerous community boards over the past 40 years with a focus on arts & culture, housing, environmental conservation, health, youth development, and human rights.

He presently serves on the boards of Foodlink, The Avenue Blackbox Theatre, and the Rochester Center for Collaborative Leadership.

Tarek Eldaher

Tarek Eldaher currently holds the position of Executive Vice President with Brown & Brown Insurance. Tarek prides himself on being a part of the fabric of the community. He has held board or committee positions at the following organizations: RMSC, NextGen Rochester, RIT Alumni Board, and YMCA Executive Board Member.

Tarek is married to Pamela Eldaher, and they have three kids. In his free time, Tarek enjoys playing golf, watching sporting events, and traveling.

Pamela O’Connor-Chapman

Pamela O’Connor-Chapman is retired from a 30-plus year career as a corporate executive with Eastman Kodak and then ITT. She is a member of the Community Engagement Committee and the Committee on Trustees.

Presently Pamela is a very active member of the Rochester Garden Club and The Chatterbox Club. During the summer months, Pamela is learning the art of being a gardener and appreciating nature’s total connectivity. During the winter Pamela loves to travel with her husband. Pamela resides in Pittsford with her husband Ken Hines.

Rose Mary Villarrubia-Izzo

Rose Mary Villarrubia-Izzo was born in Anasco, Puerto Rico. She retired from the Rochester City School District after 31 years. She serves on the Community Engagement Committee for the Zoo Society and is a Partner in Conservation Member. Her community work started as a young child alongside her parents volunteering with Ibero, the Puerto Rican Festival, PR Parade Where her father was one of the founders of St. Michaels. As an adult her work has consisted of serving on the American Red Cross Board of Directors, and the ARC Hispanic Youth Leadership Development Committee for 37 years. She has also served at the United Way of Greater Rochester Corporate Board, the United Way Hispanic Leadership Advisory Committee, the Memorial Art Gallery Family Day Advisory Committee, the City of Rochester Hispanic Planning Committee, The Latino Alliance, and WXXI Public Television Station. Rose Mary is a member of the National Council of Drug and Alcohol Dependence Hispanic Taskforce Committee and worked with other various organizations. She served as an Officer for the Board of Education Non-Teaching Employees Union (BENTE) as well as a Member-at-Large on the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Union (AFSCME), working with both unions on a local, state, and federal levels, during which time Rose Mary actively lobbied and campaigned for education, health, funding, and employee rights. She also served as a member of the Latino Community Collaborative (Deep Dive Initiative), and an Educational Committee at the Rochester City School District and served for the New York State Association of Bilingual Education as a Regional Delegate.

Eric Allen

Eric Allen works for JP Morgan Chase as a Vice President in the Middle Market Banking Group. He currently serves on the Executive Committee. He’s also a member of the Individual Giving & Institutional Giving Committee and runs the annual Drive for Wildlife Golf tournament in support of the SPZ. A SUNY Geneseo graduate and Penfield alum, Eric now lives in Fairport with his wife Nicole and their children Carter & Eliza.

Trisha Butera

Trisha Butera, CPA is the Director of Finance at the Farash Foundation, bringing accounting and audit expertise from her experience in both corporate and non-profit sectors. Her involvement with the Seneca Park Zoo Society began in 2005 as an external auditor and has evolved to a board trustee. Trisha and her husband reside in Geneseo with their two children. Her favorite animal at the Zoo is the polar bear.

Shelly Doran

Shelly Doran retired from Five Star Bank where she served as Senior Vice President and Director of Investor & External Relations. She was responsible for all communications and relationships with the investment community and media for Five Star Bank and its publicly-traded parent company, Financial Institutions, Inc.

She previously served as Vice President of Investor Relations for Home Properties, a publicly traded real estate investment trust based in Rochester. She was responsible for investor relations, public relations, and corporate communications and served as a member of the Management Committee until the company was acquired by a private equity fund in late 2013.
Prior to her move to Rochester in April 2013, she worked in progressive accounting and finance roles at Simon Property Group in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her last role at Simon was Vice President of Investor Relations. She is a graduate of Purdue University (B.S. in General Management/Accounting) and a former C.P.A.

Kevin Nowack

Kevin Nowack has been a Seneca Park Zoo Society board member since 2018. A Rochester native and graduate of Cornell University and the University of Virginia, Kevin is President at DGA Builders where he is responsible for the oversight of commercial and healthcare construction. A lifelong outdoor enthusiast with a commitment to conservation and sustainability, Kevin is excited to continue his support of the Zoo Society Board.
