Music at the Zoo with Cordancia and BIODANCE – Free with admission

A musical day of discovery at your Zoo! Don’t miss the musicians of Cordancia Chamber Orchestra and dancers of BIODANCE performing two pieces inspired by animals. At 10:15 a.m., join musicians and dancers on the Genesee Trail for an immersive performance of 10,000 Birds by the contemporary American composer John Luther Adams. A brass ensemble will perform Anthony Plog’s Animal Ditties at noon in the Animals of the Savanna Plaza with guest narrator Thomas Warfield. Get up close to musicians, dancers, and your favorite Zoo animals for a one-time only experience FREE with your admission.

10:15 a.m. 10,000 Birds by John Luther Adams, Cordancia Chamber Orchestra and BIODANCE – Genesee Trail

12:00 p.m. Animal Ditties for Brass Ensemble by Anthony Plog, with narrator Thomas Warfield – Animals of the Savanna

1:00 p.m. Fanfare de chasse by G. Rossini, Farnaby Suite by Giles Farnaby, and Concertino by Alexander Mitushin – Baboon Camp

Site-specific dance by BIODANCE will also surprise visitors in various locations.
