Panamanian Golden Frog Day!

Learn more about this national icon with your friends from Seneca Park Zoo!

Join us as we celebrate the Panamanian golden frog!

The Panamanian golden frog is a tiny amphibian with enormous cultural and conservation significance. Considered a symbol of good luck in Panama, this species is deeply woven into the country’s history and traditions.

Today, Panamanian golden frogs are Critically Endangered, with many scientists believing they may no longer exist in their natural range.

To honor these remarkable animals and raise awareness about the challenges they face, we host a special annual celebration filled with cultural dancers, hands-on learning, and conservation-focused programming throughout the day.

This celebration highlights the important role conservation care plays in protecting species like the Panamanian golden frog and the global partnerships working toward their survival. Stop by to learn more and to see how you can help!
