Elephant Awareness Weekend

In honor of World Elephant Day (August 12) we’re celebrating and raising awareness for these amazing animals the weekend of August 27 & 28 here at the Zoo!  You can celebrate this iconic mammal with activities, video content and a visit to see Moki, Lilac and Genny C.!

Schedule of Events:

Saturday 27th-

  • Barn Tours Open House – 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Naturalist Chat – 12 p.m.
  • Elephant Watermelon Eating Contest – 2 p.m.
  • Naturalist Chat – 3 p.m.

Sunday 28th-

  • Special Enrichment Opportunity – 11:30 a.m.
  • Naturalist Chat – 12 p.m.
  • Naturalist Chat – 3 p.m.
