Celebrate the longest day of the year with the tallest in the animal kingdom! Following the longest day of the year (June 21) we will have Giraffe Awareness Weekend (June 25 & 26) where we will have plenty of giraffe content, onsite enrichment, activities, and more! Make a trip out to visit with with the four Masai giraffes who currently reside at the Zoo; Parker, Kipenzi, new mom Iggy and her baby boy calf Olmy! We also encourage you to donate to our Facebook fundraiser that will go to support one of our favorite partners, Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF), which you can do at the button below.
Due to the current status in the giraffe habitat and all the extra time, work and uncertainty that comes with a new baby, mom and rest of the tower adjusting to life things may change/be cancelled at any time. The keepers are planning on keeper chats at 11:30am and 2:30pm on Saturday. There will also be Zoo Naturalists and docent stationed down by the giraffe yard throughout the weekend with some activities, biofacts and will be able to talk about the giraffes in our care and their conservation in nature.
