Intro to Birding, A Sit and Bird Event, with Sea McKeon from the American Bird Conservancy

September 28 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

Join us for a unique and relaxing experience where you will learn the fundamentals of birding through a Sit and Bird session. This event will also introduce you to the art of nature journaling, where you’ll discover how recording your observations with words or drawings can enhance your connection with nature. No artistic talent is required—just bring your curiosity and love for the outdoors!

This event is free and open to the public, but preregistration is required and space is limited to 16 participants. Suitable for ages 12 to 120, this Birdability event ensures accessibility with wheelchair-friendly paths throughout the park. Binoculars will be available, and nature journals will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring camp chairs or blankets to sit on and enjoy the serene environment.

This rain-or-shine event will be held in lower Seneca Park, not at the Zoo. Participants should meet at the Longhouse Shelter. All paths are wheelchair and scooter accessible.

This program is presented in partnership with the Genesee Valley Audubon.
