The Sustainable Table series features local kitchens who share the Seneca Park Zoo Society’s commitment to sustainability, showing how vibrant and delicious sustainable living can be. At every Sustainable Table event, you can expect to learn and experience new things about our region’s ecology and agriculture, enjoy an amazing meal that incorporates plenty of local and sustainably produced food, and support the critical conservation education that the Zoo Society provides all year round at our Zoo and throughout the community.
2024 Dates
March 7 – Sustainable Dinner with The Owl House
June 6 – Roux
September 25 – Farmhouse Table Food
Celebrate harvest with an evening of seasonal food and an exploration of the way seasons and the effects of climate change impact how humans and animals eat. We’ll begin the evening with informative chats about the way Zoo animals are affected by the seasons when in their natural range, how Seneca Park Zoo provides for these daily needs, and then hear about how seasonality alters how we eat locally.
Farmhouse Table Food will provide a locally sourced four course family style menu with selections for a variety of palates and diets. Your ticket includes afterhours access to the Zoo, a delicious menu, and a donation to the Zoo Society. Dinner begins at 6pm. Guests must be 21+, cash bar available. Omnivore, vegetarian, and gluten-free options available.
A pollinator themed Sustainable Table with Roux and Bar Hill Spirits. Your reservation fee will be donated to the Seneca Park Zoo’s education and conservation efforts and gets you a welcome drink and a pollinator seed packet. A three-course prefixed dinner, priced at $100, will feature foods and paired cocktails that wouldn’t exist without our fuzzy bee friends!
