Sea Lion Encounter at Rocky Coast

Our Rocky Coast Sea Lion Encounter offers guests an extraordinary opportunity to interact with the sea lions of Seneca Park Zoo. Venture behind-the-scenes into the Rocky Coast habitat, where you’ll learn about the enrichment and care provided to these remarkable marine residents. Immerse yourself in a world of wonder as you get up close and personal with our playful sea lions, capturing unique photo opportunities that will create lasting memories. Engage with our knowledgeable keepers during the Q&A session, where you can deepen your understanding of these charismatic creatures.

Sea Lion Encounter at Rocky Coast are offered Saturdays only at 1:30 p.m. Maximum group size is 8 persons.

For Whom?

Sea Lion Encounter at Rocky Coast are open to guests ages 8+. Tours require guests be able to walk up a flight of stairs so we cannot accommodate wheel chairs. Many of the back areas will be wet and slippery so those with mobility concerns please be aware. Footwear will get wet so please dress accordingly (no open toed footwear).

How Much?

Tickets are $100 per person, include a $25 donation for species’ survival, and can be purchased here. Tickets are limited. Admission ticket to the Zoo (or Zoo membership) also required for entry.

Please arrive promptly at the Rocky Coast Gallery near the polar bear statue by 1:15 p.m. The tour will be departing at 1:30 p.m. and not late arrivals will be accepted.

Each person needs to have their own ticket and must be 8+ years of age.

No, service animals are not allowed behind the scenes due to close proximity to the zoo animals.

Refunds may be issued at the discretion of the ticket team.  

It’s important that you arrive promptly for your tour time. If you miss it, and the tour happens, the ticket will be non-refundable and non-transferable.

Yes, but the aide would also require a ticket of their own.

Yes, in addition to the Sea Lion Encounter at Rocky Coast ticket, guests must purchase a regular admission ticket (or use their Zoo membership) to enter the Zoo.
