Rhino Encounter at Seneca Park Zoo

Rhino Encounters are now being offered at the Seneca Park Zoo! During this experience you will meet Jiwe, our white rhino, and learn about his personality from our animal care team! Guests will be led behind-the-scenes through the Animals of the Savanna building where they will get a one-of-a-kind experience meeting our resident white rhino. Please bring the completed and signed waiver available here to your tour.

Tickets: $50 per person

When?

Rhino Encounters are offered Saturdays only at 1:45 p.m. Maximum group size is 8 persons.

Guests should check in 15 minutes prior to the start of their schedule encounter just past the elephant barn. Please bring the completed and signed waiver available here to your tour.

For Whom?

Rhino Encounters are open to guests ages 8+. Tours require guests be able to walk up a flight of stairs so we cannot accommodate wheel chairs.

Please wear close-toed, non-slip shoes.

Seneca Park Zoo reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an encounter for the safety of the animals and guests.

How Much?

Tickets are $50 per person, include a $12.50 donation for species’ survival, and can be purchased here. Tickets are limited. Admission ticket to the Zoo (or Zoo membership) also required for entry.

Each person needs to have their own ticket and must be 8+ years of age.

No, service animals are not allowed behind the scenes due to close proximity to the zoo animals.

Refunds may be issued at the discretion of the ticket team.  

It’s important that you arrive promptly for your tour time. If you miss it, and the tour happens, the ticket will be non-refundable and non-transferable.

Yes, but the aide would also require a ticket of their own.

Yes, in addition to the Rhino Encounter ticket, guests must purchase a regular admission ticket (or use their Zoo membership) to enter the Zoo.
